JUDY HOUK

My interest in art began in the year 2000. I enjoy painting a variety of different subjects and in all types of media.

I've attended art classes at Northwest State Community College in Archbold Ohio and at Defiance College in Defiance Ohio. In 2002, I became a member of the Toledo Artists 'Club, Hillsdale County Art Guild and was accepted to the Northwestern Ohio Watercolor Society in 2003, then joined the Fort Wayne Artists' Guild in 2013.

In September 2002, I organized the Black Swamp Art Guild, of Williams County and was their President for the first two years.

After moving to Angola Indiana in 2005, I helped organize the Angola Regional Artists' Guild in 2006 and served as their President for the first two years and this year organized the Angola Watercolor Society. I stay very active attending workshops and participating in area art shows, where I have received several awards. In 2003 I began teaching art in my home studio and continue to do so.

" I hope my students not only learn the fundamentals of Art but get as much pleasure from the classes as I get teaching them. I'm passionate about my artwork and hope my enthusiasm shows. We must promote the Arts and always keep learning".
